My video deals with the many places of my feline friend, Domino. His unspoken philosophy seems to be, if I'm here, it's my place. Which means, his place is wherever he is most comfortable, wherever he feels most at home. And he clearly illustrates this all over the apartment.
The idea is summed up in two sentences at the end of the video. The cat is a simple creature, and this video sticks to that ethos.

Ok. To be brutally honest, this seemed a lot more interesting the way you described it in your proposal. As it stands right now, it just feels like a video of a cat. I'm not sure what to suggest to improve or better communicate your original concept. I don't know if I'm getting the same sense of "space" you wanted to talk about in your proposal.
it is interesting to follw around the cat to try to define their place. this video felt more like a stalking video than a place study. not a bad thing at all. the stalker aspect is another way to examine another being/animal's place. it is further filtered by recording the recording.
It feels like I'm stalking the cat, even more so because of the breathing heard through the audio. Oddly though I don't really mind. Maybe a different audio source would be better next time since the whole silent/breathing experience makes it seem stalker-ish.
Man, your cat seems really bored. I think you need to take it to some different "places" so it has something to do. I'm not quite sure about the video monitor to webcam thing too.
Putting the cat in different places would be a neat experiment. Recording the computer screen kind of made everything dizzy like.
the shots where the cat is not looking at the camera are great - i wish you had gotten more of them, or just cut out the parts where the cat stares directly at the viewer. i like the idea of filming the screen, but i think you should have used a tripod for that. the movement from the original footage is enough to define space within the frame, the additional hand-held motion of filming the screen makes it less voyeuristic i think.

An exciting day for Domino. ha I think the strongest parts are the parts where he is very still which made me think it was a photograph and then all of a sudden he would get up and walk off.
